LINCOLN, Neb. - For the second year in a row, the knights of Archbishop Bergan are atop the class C-2 mountaintop.

The Knights knocked off Norfolk Catholic 59-50 to go back to back as state champions for the first time in program history.

A big storyline entering the finals was that of 6'7" Gavin Baker, a future UNO basketball product, against Northwestern football commit Leighton Burbach. For the second game in a row, Baker posted a double double with 30-point, 11-rebound performance. Burbach posted four points and 12 rebounds.

The Knights built up a 10 point half time lead and would grow that advantage to 19 in the second half. Norfolk Catholic would trim it to five late, but Bergan hangs on for the state title win.

Archbishop Bergan ends the year 28-1 and Norfolk Catholic ends the year 24-5.
