Two pets perish in Torrington house fire

No injuries reported in a Torrington house fire Wednesday afternoon, but two pets died.

TORRINGTON, Wyo. — A house fire was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2200 block of West B Street, according to the Torrington Police Department and Torrington Volunteer Fire Department.

Dispatchers received the initial call at approximately 2:20 p.m. Officers responded to the scene, followed by firefighters.

Fire crews arrived to find a considerable amount of brown smoke coming from a residence located on the alley side of the property. Firefighters made entry and brought the fire under control. The blaze appeared to have originated from a stacked clothes washer and dryer unit, officials said.

No occupants were home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Two pets inside the residence did not survive.

Responding resources included Command, Engine 6, Tower 1 and 13 firefighters.

Police officials expressed appreciation for the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department for its response and service to the community.
