Man arrested for driving moped drunk in Valentine

A 51-year-old Nebraska man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol while operating a moped in Valentine.

Between February 1st and the 7th, the following arrests were reported by the Valentine Police Department:

On 2/2/26, at 10:15 PM, a traffic stop near the intersection of 1st and Main Streets lead to the arrest of a 33 year old Nebraska woman on the charge of Driving Under Suspension.

On 2/4/26, at 11:25 PM, an officer observed a moped operating without headlight or taillight.  The officer stopped the vehicle in the 200 block of South Hall Street.  The driver, a 51 year old Nebraska man, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

During the week, officers responded to 35 calls for service, including:

 4 disturbances

5 traffic stops

1 theft

1 shoplifting

3 welfare checks

1 non injury accident

1 criminal trespass
