CHAPPELL, Neb. – A new splash pad is officially on the way to Chappell, and community leaders say the long-awaited summer project is fully funded and moving forward.

The Chappell Community Development group announced Tuesday that all necessary funds have been raised for the splash pad, which is expected to be installed by mid to late June. Additional contributions received moving forward will be used for shade structures and seating at the site.

“This will be such a great addition to our pool park and so much fun for all ages,” organizers said in a public announcement. “Teamwork truly does make the dream work!”

The splash pad will remain open through October, offering residents a refreshing way to beat the heat even after the city pool closes for the season.

Funding for the project was made possible through donations to the Chappell Community Fund, along with support from several key grant organizations. Officials gave special thanks to the Thomas D. Buckley Trust, Virginia Smith Trust, Black Hills Energy, ACE Energy, and an anonymous grant donor for making the project a reality.
