Hillside Golf Course plans to remain open through winter

Hours of operation will vary with temperature, weather
SIDNEY -- The weather is changing but golf is still an option.
Golf Course Director Lance Juelfs recently said hours are expected to change, staying opening contingent on weather conditions.
Normally, we would close on November 10, but this year we are staying open. We have decided to remain open all winter, as long as the weather is nice," Juelfs said in a written statement.
Here is what the changes will look like:
- Must be at least 48 degrees outside to drive carts
 - Carts must be driven in the rough as much as possible.
 - Carts must stay on the cart paths as long as possible and on cart path only on Par 3's
 - There will not be any Pins on the greens
 - Golfers may hit the ball onto the green and putt, but there won't be any Pins out
 - There will be times when staff are hand watering the greens, so there will be hoses on the greens and sprinklers going.
 - Course will open at 10 a.m. each morning, or whenever it gets to 48*
 - Golfers must call for a tee time
 - Last tee time of the day will be two hours before sunset, so that will be roughly 2:30 p.m. in the winter months.
 - The course will be closed on national holidays.
 - If you have a cart that you drive onto the course from your house, please be respectful of the 48 degree rule. Grass will be damaged if driven on under 45 degrees, so I would like to start the spring in the best shape as possible, so again, please respect this rule.

There are Christmas parties planned. Companies or families wishing to schedule a Christmas party are encouraged to call Hillside Golf Course as soon as possible.
The Pro Shop is planning a blowout sale November 25 through December 23. The sale will include 15 to 20 percent off all items in the store.
