LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police arrested a man after he was reportedly vandalizing vehicles with a skid loader.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to U-Stop on S 73rd St. at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a man vandalizing vehicles while in a skid loader.

Officers said they received more calls and went to Home Depot on S 70th St. where they found the man.

According to authorities, the man turned the skid loader towards the officer's cruiser and ran into it. The officer was inside the cruiser and the vehicle was damaged.

Officials reported that the officer got out of the cruiser and took out his service weapon but he did not fire it. No one was reportedly injured and the man got out of the skid loader before being taken into custody at gunpoint.

LPD said the man was 36-year-old Samuel Peyrot, of Lincoln. He was booked at the Lancaster County Jail for second-degree assault on an officer, second-degree assault and criminal mischief.

Police stated that several vehicles were damaged and a man was inside one of the damaged trucks but only had minor injuries. Two nearby buildings were reportedly damaged as well and the skid loader belongs to Peyrot's employer.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can contact LPD or Crime Stoppers.
