LINCOLN, Neb. -- Over 20 lbs. of cocaine and 10 grams of OxyContin were found in the vehicle of two Chicago women traveling in Seward County.

The Seward County Sheriff's Office said officers pulled over a 2015 Mercedes SUV on Oct. 1 around 11:00 a.m. The vehicle was pulled over due to an obscured license plate near Mile Marker 382 on Interstate 80.

Officers said they conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle and found an aftermarket compartment in the rear floor. They reportedly found 24.65 lbs. of cocaine and 12.35 grams of OxyContin inside of the compartment.

According to authorities, the driver was 28-year-old Samantha Francisco and the passenger was 20-year-old Julany Rivera. They were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and no drug tax stamp. Francisco and Rivera were lodged in the Seward County Detention Center.

Thirty minutes later and 10 miles away, a separate case occurred where two more women from Chicago were arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol for cocaine and unknown pills.
