Lonnie L. Lindblad, CWO4 USN (Ret.)

Lonnie L. Lindblad, CWO4 USN (Ret.), 72 years of age, of Martell passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. He was born on September 14, 1952 in Beatrice to Clifford and Geraldine (Ratchford) Lindblad. Lonnie graduated from Beatrice High School in 1970 and enlisted in the United States Navy in June. He served his country for almost 24 years, retiring in 1993 as a CWO4. Lonnie married Peggy Busch on March 2, 1973 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth. After retirement, they moved to Lincoln for a short time before settling just north of Princeton. Lonnie was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lincoln where he served as an Elder for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Fox News, Nebraska sports, Sunday night family dinners and time with his family and grandchildren.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters, Jennifer Fox and husband Will of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Meredith Lindblad and fiancé Jon Pitt of Lincoln; son, Travis Lindblad and wife Jenny of Crete; grandchildren, Rachel, Caitlyn, Jake and Brooklynn; siblings, Cindy Lutz and husband Craig, Ronnie Lindblad and wife Patti, both of Florida, Peggy Stohs and significant other Ed, Gayle Dodd and husband Kurt, both of Lincoln, Carla Roelfs and husband Steve of North Platte, Rick Lindblad and wife Cindy of Beatrice, Jo Slama and husband Bob of Peru; sisters-in-law, Glenda Johnsen of Beatrice, Susan Brandt of Plymouth; brother-in-law, Doug Busch and wife Theressa of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Eugene and Delores (Drewes) Busch; grandson, Dalton Fox; and brothers-in-law, Roger Johnsen and Brian Brandt.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 3930 South 19th Street, Lincoln, NE 68502 with Pastor Joel Vogel officiating. Interment with military rites by the United States Navy and Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery west of Plymouth. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice from 2 to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM.
