It is with great sadness that we share with you the unexpected death of Joseph Arthur Cox, age 65, of Fairbury, NE, on November 20, 2024.

Joe was born on December 30, 1958, in Zeeland, Michigan to Harold and Garnett Cox. The family moved to Beatrice, NE where Joe attended school.  Immediately upon graduation from Beatrice High School, he joined the United States Marine Corp serving honorably for four years.  Since that time, he has been an active member of the American Legion.

In December of 1986, Joe married Belinda Siebe.  From their union, they were blessed with their daughter, Carla Lynn and son, Joseph Arthur II.

Joe was a simple (tee-shirts and blue-jeans), kind and caring man with very few wants in life.  He was always at the ready to lend a hand to those in need, expecting nothing in return.  After his military service, Joe had various jobs before choosing to be his own boss and farm.  Besides the love for his family, he loved the desert, fishing, antique tractors and listening to 70’s music. And, like his Mother, he enjoyed visiting with others, whether an acquaintance or stranger.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Garnett Cox and his parents-in-law, Marvin and Leona Siebe.

In his death, Joe leaves behind his wife of nearly 38-years, Belinda, daughter, Carla, son Joseph and wife, Amanda, along with grandchildren Eliana Jade and Colter Joseph. Siblings:  Joyce and Ron Evink of Holland, Michigan; Linda Nuismer and Rex Behrends of Beatrice; Randy and Carol Cox of Elkhorn. In-laws:  Fred and Terry Siebe of Wakefield, KS; Cindy and Alan Schroeder of Omaha; Tony and Ronda Siebe of Grand Island; Frances and Fred McCown of Fairbury; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Joseph Arthur Cox will be held on December 12, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Church, Alexandria, NE.  Burial will be at Alexandria Cemetery.

The family encourages you, like Joe, to be kind, be a good friend, keep your wants few.
