Initial reports: no one harmed in Friday morning Kansas fire

According to initial reports, no one was harmed in a fire at a processing plant in Washington, Kansas on Friday morning.

WASHINGTON, Kan. - No injuries or fatalities were reported following a fire at a processing plant in northern Kansas on Friday morning.  

Emergency personnel were called to this processing plant, Fairview Mills, in Washington on Friday morning before 11 a.m. By noon, the initial blaze had been put out, but smoke and emergency vehicles persisted.  

I was told to leave the scene by official personnel who confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities stemming from the fire, but they refused to comment further at this time. This story will be updated with additional information when it becomes available.
