LoIda Faye Thornburg

LoIda Faye Thornburg, passed away on February 19, 2025. She was born on April 22, 1937, on a farm near Western, Nebraska. She was a true example of patience, empathy and resilience.
LoIda graduated from Western High School and Beatrice Beauty School. She owned her own salon for several years. After raising her family, she worked at the Beatrice Daily Sun, where she made many lasting friendships. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and shopping. She cherished time spent having lunch with her friends and found the most joy in her three grandchildren, whether it was going to countless sporting events, theater productions, music programs, attentively watching them play video games, playing board games and even making many tubs of slime in her kitchen.
A longtime member of the First Christian Church, LoIda's faith was a profound part of her life. It is said, "The greatest of these is love," and truly LoIda embodied this through her unwavering love and support for her family, who were what mattered most to her.
After being set up on a blind date, LoIda married the love of her life, Jim “JT” Thornburg on February 9, 1963 at the First Christian Church in Beatrice. They enjoyed 60 years together motorcycle riding, spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks and taking many fun trips together. She will be deeply missed by her children, Julie (Allen) Klecan, Jeff (Michelle) Thornburg and her grandchildren, Connor & Andrew Klecan, and Claire Thornburg. She is also survived by her sister-in-law E’Linda Thornburg, her great-nephew, Tanner Krajnik and his family, and by many other nephews and their families. LoIda was preceded in death by her husband Jim (2023), their son Jay Alan Thornburg, parents, William and Ida (Frey) Krajnik, brothers Bob (Betty) and Randall Krajnik, nephews and niece, Todd, Brian and Kim Krajnik and in-laws, Elroy and Zella Thornburg.
