Dale Lee Colson, 50 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on June 18, 2024 in Omaha. He was born on July 18, 1973 in Tecumseh to Dale Allen and Marva (Beagley) Colson. Dale married young. He and former wife Lori (Stewart) May brought 3 sons and 1 daughter to their union. Sadly, losing their beautiful daughter at 3 months old. Most of his adult life was spent working outdoors as a foreman at Blue Valley Sod. He installed underground sprinkler systems and did landscaping for over 2 decades. Due to health issues, Dale made the difficult decision and changed career paths. He became a meat cutter at Family Fare and eventually was the meat manager. At any job, Dale has always made the customers happy and gotten along well with coworkers making some lifelong friends.

21 years after high school, Dale was able to find his first love Kimberly and it wasn’t long before their love re-sparked and they finally got a second chance at first love with her bringing 3 children into this blended family. Helping each other to raise 6 children ranging in ages from 3 to 15 was very busy, fun, expensive, and enjoyable. Dale was always proud of all the children, raised them all as his own, and didn’t use the word “step” in front of the world children. Dale and Kimberly wed on their 2nd anniversary, July 10, 2012, in Half Moon Bay, California. They proudly bought their family home in 2015.

Dale’s greatest joys are time with family and friends, sports but especially football, fishing, camping, being outdoors, music of all genres, comedy movies, TV sitcoms and favorite show MASH, video games, grilling and cooking new recipes. Dale had impacted the lives of many. He truly enjoyed being there for people, always had the time to listen day or night, and he always knew what to say in any situation. He had a way of making everyone feel special, welcome, valued, and heard. He’s well known for his great sense of humor, sarcasm, and quick wit. Sometimes that even got him put into Facebook jail. He enjoyed making people laugh and seeing them smile. He has always been a devoted husband, father, friend, and employee.

Dale had a never-ending roller coaster of health issues starting in February keeping him in a hospital or rehab for 81 days. He was finally able to come home for 20 days and then needed surgery which landed him back in hospital 16 more days and his health continuously declined until his passing at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will be carried in the hearts of everyone he leaves behind. Though he no longer will be here in the physical sense, the impact he has made on our lives will forever remain. May he rest in eternal peace.
