Marilda J. Kisling, 84, of Beatrice passed away at home in May of 2024. She was born on September 4, 1939, in Beatrice to Johann and Reka (Remmers) Wallman.  She grew up on a farm near Adams and graduated from Adams High School. Marilda married Alvin Kisling on September 4, 1960, at St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice. She was a farm wife and mother most of her working career but later in life she worked as a direct caregiver at the Beatrice State Developmental Center and Mosaic. She was a member of Christ Community Church, Beatrice. Marilda enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, animals, traveling, watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Darin (Rebecca) Kisling of Shenandoah, IA; daughter, Terri (Darwin) Jantzen of Beatrice; grandchildren, Cody (Samantha) Parker, Alex (Jovanna) Jantzen, Bonnie Jantzen, Travis (Lexy) Kisling, Trevor (Haley) Kisling, Brenden Sandage, Vaughn “Nate” (Allison) Kisling, Veronica Wilson, Victoria (James) Hammond and Wyatt Spencer; great-grandchildren, Arlo, Sylvie, Sidney, Oliver, Charlie, Grayson, Weston, Hazel, Calliope, Eleanor and Trey; sister, Judy (James) Gruell of Kearney, MO; brother, Gilbert (Mary) Wallman of Beatrice; and a host of extended family and friends from her many years of employment at BSDC and Mosaic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Reka Wallman; husband, Alvin (1986); son, Michael (2020); granddaughter, Sydney Jantzen; infant brother, Harlen; sisters, Idonna Wallman and Ethel Gurke; and sister-in-law, Adline Moss.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Christ Community Church with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. on Monday at the church. Private family inurnment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Plymouth. A register book signing will be held from noon until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
