John Leroy Ottersberg, 87 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 22, 1937 on a farm near Filley to Harm and Anke (Ideus) Ottersberg. John married Gloria Hevelone on January 5, 1957 in Wymore. He worked for Coopers Feed Mill in Beatrice until 1976. He then started working at Store Kraft Manufacturing until his retirement in 1999. John enjoyed NASCAR racing, WWE wrestling, loved the outdoors and especially mowing his property with his John Deere riding mower. He enjoyed listening to country music, polkas and loved Elvis. John liked working on cars, especially with his son, Mike. 

John is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Twila Kuhlman and husband Tom of Spivey, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Michele Ottersberg Wolken of Beatrice; granddaughters, Jessica Bryceson and husband Justin of Lincoln, Jacie Irland and husband Andy of Aurora, Colorado; great grandchildren, Donavan and Domanic Bryceson of Lincoln and Olive Irland of Aurora, Colorado; brother, Ed Ottersberg and wife Bonnie of Peoria, Arizona; sister, Leanna Powell of Omaha; and sister-in-law, Monnie Ottersberg of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; brothers, Harm, Willie and Harvey; and sister, Alma Davison.
