LINCOLN, Neb. — Millard North used free throws and a steal on the final possession to hold off Omaha Westside in overtime 50-48 in the Class A semifinals.

In an extra period that didn’t see a made field goal, the #2 Mustangs went 4-6 from the line to build a two-point lead. Camden Monie stole the ball from the #3 Warriors after a baseline inbounds play in the final seconds to seal the victory.

The teams traded buckets for most of the game. Westside held the lead after each of the first two quarters and Millard North led after the third. Westside’s Carson Healy made two out of three free throws late in the 4th quarter to tie the game and Millard North’s final shot barely rimmed out.

With the win, the Mustangs advance to their fifth title game in a row — all of which have been against Bellevue West. The T-Birds and Mustangs play for the championship Saturday at 6:15.
