BEATRICE – A Blue Springs man had been ordered to serve a two-year state prison term for felony attempted intentional child abuse and misdemeanor charges of second-degree false imprisonment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

41-year-old Bryon Forney was sentenced by Gage County District Judge Rick Schreiner, Thursday. The sentence includes a year of post-release supervision.
Two charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child against Forney, were dismissed…and he pleaded guilty to the remaining charges.

Forney received credit off his prison term for 280-days spent in custody. He was arrested following a relationship with a then 15-year-old girl…in which a forensic interview and review of cell phone records aided authorities in bringing charges.

A warrant was issued and Forney was arrested in the spring of 2023.

In a separate case...probation is the sentence for a Wymore man convicted of two counts of attempted possession of child pornography.

21-year-old Dalton Schwartz has been ordered to serve a two-year term of probation, after pleading guilty to the two felony charges. Five other charges involving possession of child pornography and visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct were dismissed, in Gage County District Court.

Schwartz was arrested following a Nebraska State Patrol investigation reviewing online activity for child pornography, in which a federal search warrant was issued.
