FAIRBURY, Neb. -- The Fairbury Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Miracle on the Square Friday night as a part of celebrating the holidays.

The events begin at 5 p.m. with Santa and Mrs. Claus visiting with kids and families at the courthouse. It is free to see Santa, with families required to enter on the north side of the building.

That is followed by Santa’s bus ride, which will take families around the town and to Crystal Springs Campground to see the Christmas lights setup. The bus ride is $10 per family.

At 5:30 p.m., there will be a reindeer walk around the square. It is $5 per person and each person will receive blinking antlers.

“Well, we just want to make Fairbury a fun place to be, get families out and give them free things to do,” said Sharon Priefert, Executive Director of Fairbury Chamber of Commerce. “That’ll just get them together and then to obviously to promote our town. This year, if you drive around, you can see a lot of paintings in the window. Tony Once, an artist here in town, has offered to do that and it also adds a lot of holiday spirit.”

Events like the Christmas at Crystal and the 14th Annual Festival of the Trees will go through the remainder of December to celebrate Christmas in Fairbury.
