Lincoln man dies in fatal car accident on I-180

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities in Lincoln say they are investigating a fatal car accident that happened on Interstate 180.
The Lincoln Police Department said they accident happened on I-180 - northbound/outbound - just south of Superior St.
On Sunday around 2:05 p.m., LPD said officers were dispatched to northbound I-180 and Superior St. on a report of a single-vehicle accident.
Police said that was where the vehicle left the road and rolled into the ditch.
Officers said that when they arrived, they found a white SUV that had been driven off the road, struck several trees and fence posts before rolling and coming to a rest on its top.
There was one person in the vehicle, 73-year-old Timothy Gill from Lincoln, who was extracted from the vehicle by Lincoln Fire & Rescue.
LPD said Gill was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said that a medical factor is suspected to have contributed to the crash. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected.
