Alvin LeRoy McLellan, born on March 9, 1939, in Scottsbluff, NE, USA, passed away on October 26, 2023. Alvin, a humble man, spent most of his life in his beloved state of Nebraska. He moved to the Fairbury and Beatrice area in 1967, where he made a home and built a lifetime of memories. He married Patricia Jinks and to this union two children, Andy and Shawn, were born. They later divorced. He met and married his wife, Sondra, on February 4, 1983, and together they shared many happy years. Alvin worked diligently as a surveyor for the US Soil Conservation Office before his well-earned retirement, contributing significantly to his community and his field.

Alvin was a man of many passions, including gardening, fishing, camping, and visiting his family in Scottsbluff. He also had a profound interest in history, collecting Indian artifacts which he generously donated to a museum. His commitment to service extended beyond his career, as he honorably served his country in the United States Navy from June 6, 1957, until June 5, 1963. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Clubs in Beatrice.

Alvin is survived by his devoted wife, Sondra McLellan, his stepchildren Sherry Tyser of Wilber, Nancy (Russ) Schmidt of Jansen, and Rick (Teri) Mangus of Plymouth, his daughter Shawn Garcia of Myrtle Beach, SC, 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and his sister Linda MacKichan of Beatrice, and other extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Pearl McLellan, his son Andy McLellan, and his brother John McLellan Jr.
