HEBRON, Neb --  On Monday morning, shortly before 11:00 a.m., the Thayer County Sheriff's office received a call of a possible burglary in progress.  The caller, who was out of town, told authorities that their residence was equipped with a security camera that showed a person, who they recognized, attempting to break in.  The homeowner stated that they watched the intruder break the plate glass door using a hammer, enter the home, and then leave a short time later in a silver vehicle.

When authorities arrived they noticed a gas meter in the alley had been damaged causing a gas leak.  Black Hills was then contacted to stop the leak and check the residence.   While on scene, the owners of the home provided details including the suspect's name to the officers.

Authorities were able to find the suspect in Hebron a short while later.   Justen Brians, age 46, of Hebron, was arrested for burglary, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.   Brians is currently being held at the Thayer County Jail with bond set at 10% of $150,000.
