BEATRICE – Some students had minor injuries in an accident involving a Freeman Public Schools Bus, on Thursday.

Gage County Sheriff’s deputies say just before four p.m., the bus was westbound on East Aspen Road dropping off students after school.  The driver stopped at a stop sign at South 96th Road…checked in both directions, then proceeded through the intersection which is located below the crests of two hills for north and south traffic.

While in the middle of the intersection, a 2012 GMC Acadia driven by a male juvenile from Firth came over the hill to the south and struck the middle of the school bus.

Some students had minor injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics from Adams Fire and Rescue.  There was no immediate word on the ages of the students who had minor injuries.

School officials also responded to the scene to help reunite students with parents.

Gage County Sheriff’s deputies and the Nebraska State Patrol investigated the accident.
