DORCHESTER, Neb. -- The Dorchester Community Foundation Fund is hosting a BBQ Pork Feed Sunday at the Dorchester Park aimed at raising money to better the city.

The event will take place Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Dorchester park. It will have ribs and pulled pork sandwiches for the attendees.

The Foundation Fund is focused on building shade structures and bleachers at the local baseball park in the city.

“Currently, we are trying to raise funds for shade structures and bleachers at the baseball park in Dorchester,” said Dale Hayek, Chairman of the Dorchester Community Foundation Fund. “This year we poured concrete where they are going to be placed next year and we are still trying to raise funds to finalize the purchase of those things.”

The foundation has been hosting this event for a few years and it has been a big success with the community showing up and supporting the projects.

“We have a lot of eager volunteers and the community has really supported us,” Hayek said. “It shows the testament of small town America and trying to keep the community vibrant.”

Hayek said if the weather is not favorable, it will be moved to the community center in Dorchester.
