FAIRBURY, Neb. -- Authorities said they have arrested a 56-year-old Fairbury woman for numerous thefts, with some that included felony amounts.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said that on Friday, at 9:15 a.m. for a woman, Ramona Jones, getting into vehicles near the downtown square and Fairbury courthouse. 

The Sheriff's Office said that during the initial investigation, numerous items were found missing from different vehicles. 

After authorities found surveillance footage in the area, JCSO said the deputies were able to get a description and were able to identify Jones from previous interactions they had with her. 

JCSO said that numerous deputies started searching the area for Jones, and they were able to find her around 11:37 a.m. near the intersection of 10th and E Streets. 

Jones was arrested when they made contact with her. 

The items that were taken out of the vehicles were found on Ramona when she was checked by deputies. 

Jones was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on numerous counts of theft, some of which were felony amounts.

Authorities said this case is still under investigation and the Sheriff's Office encourages any one who may be a victim and is missing items from their vehicles to contact them.
