LINCOLN, Neb. -- An event was held in Lincoln to celebrate the heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

The Asian Community and Cultural Center held an event at the Lancaster County Event Center on Sunday to showcase the "rich cultural heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders."

The event began at 1:00 p.m. with opening remarks and a lion dance by the Omaha Kung Fu Academy.

There were several traditional performances that took place along with food, art, exhibits, and activities that people could participate in.

The celebration ended at 5:00 p.m. with freestyle music and dance.
