Stolen vehicle used in attempted ATM theft in Lincoln

A reportedly stolen vehicle was used to try and steal an ATM from a Lincoln bank.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A reportedly stolen vehicle was used to try and steal an ATM from a Lincoln bank.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to Pinnacle Bank, 2703 Folkways Blvd., at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday for an alarm of a reported ATM tamper.

Officers said they found an ATM was pulled from its base and laying in the drive. They also found a 2006 Ford F250 in the area. The truck was reportedly used to pull the ATM.

According to authorities, the truck was reportedly stolen from the 700 block of Lamont Drive earlier in the morning. The total estimated damage done to both the machine and the surrounding structure was $104,000.
