LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two men in their 20s were arrested after a multiple-county pursuit near Lincoln Monday night.

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol said they have arrested 22-year-old Than Tun and 21-year-old Kyaw Wah, both of Omaha, after a pursuit that crossed three counties.

Around 9:30 p.m., an NSP trooper said they saw a Honda Insight going west and speeding on Interstate 80 near the 56th Street interchange in Lincoln.

NSP said the trooper also identified the vehicle as one that had been reported stolen from Omaha not too long before.

As the vehicle exited I-80 and began traveling south on 56th Street, the trooper said they attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle reportedly refused to yield, performed a U-turn, and began fleeing north on Highway 77. NSP said the trooper initiated a pursuit.

The Honda continued north speeding 100 mph or more, according to the NSP.

When the Honda got to Wahoo, NSP said the vehicle turned west on to Highway 92.

The NSP said that as the vehicle went north of Brainard on Highway 92, a Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy was able to successfully deploy stop sticks to slow the vehicle. A trooper said they then performed a tactical vehicle intervention to bring the vehicle to a stop.

NSP said both Tun and Wah were then taken into custody without further incident.

Tun was the driver, and he was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, theft by unlawful taking $5,000+, possession of burglary tools, possession of an open alcohol container, and numerous traffic violations.

Wah was the passenger, and he was arrested for possession of burglary tools and possession of an open alcohol container.

Both Tun and Wah were lodged in Butler County Jail.

The entire pursuit last about 30 minutes.
