Beatrice northeast water tower to get a fresh coat of paint
BEATRICE - A crew has begun the process of repainting the largest water tower owned by a southeast Nebraska community.
Crews were power washing the Beatrice water tower at 19th and Jackson, in preparation for repainting the largest of two towers in the city.
Utility Service Company has an ongoing contract with the Board of Public Works to maintain and paint the towers. The company is doing the work on the northeast tower, which will include installing new 16-by-16 foot logos for nearly $14,000 additional costs on two sides of the tank, in between the lettering of Beatrice.
In about two years, the city’s south water tower, a smaller tank…will be repainted. Officials also plan to install the new logos on that tower, located at Mulberry Avenue and West Street.
The city’s water towers are repainted about every ten to twelve years.
