BEATRICE – Authorities arrested a 26-year-old male Saturday afternoon after investigating a complaint of a white truck driving through yards in the 27-hundred block of Elk Street….part of it captured on a home security camera.

The video showed the truck swerving, and driving up onto two homeowners yards….about 200 yards from where children were riding bikes and scooters on a sidewalk.

Beatrice Police later found the truck matching a description in a driveway along North 28th Street. A witness reported a man passed out in his backyard because he couldn’t figure out how to get into his house.

Police contacted the man, who was breathing but unresponsive.  The man identified as Colton Klaus eventually woke up and was told he was going to the hospital for medical treatment. Police said Klaus became agitated but was arrested by officers and taken to the hospital, where he showed signs of alcohol impairment.

He was later taken to Gage County Jail for driving under the influence, criminal mischief, willful reckless driving and resisting arrest.
