BEATRICE – Rescue personnel were sent to an accident in southern Lancaster County during the noon hour, Tuesday.

Units from Hallam, Cortland and Clatonia were dispatched to the accident at South 25th and Firth Road, about two miles northeast of Cortland.

A Nebraska State Patrol Officer blocking through-traffic on Firth Road said it was a two-vehicle rollover accident.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chad Bryant says a westbound vehicle and a northbound vehicle collided at the intersection.   Both drivers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a Lincoln hospital.  Both were alone in their vehicles and wearing safety restraints.

Bryant says the driver of the northbound vehicle was ticketed for careless driving.  The accident happened at 12:30 p.m.
