LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities have made an arrest after weeks of ongoing disputes and a stabbing.

The Lincoln Police Department said that in weeks leading up to March 14th, 55-year-old Michael Wert and his 53-year-old neighbor had multiple ongoing disputes around their respective residences.

Officials said that around 8:15 p.m. Monday, the reported victim confronted Wert outside of their homes on R Street. This resulted in another argument, LPD said.

LPD said that Wert left for about 30 minutes before he came back and kicked the door of the victim's home.

Authorities said that the victim confronted Wert and was stabbed in the left arm and torso with a 2.5-inch-blade knife.

Officials said that the two then started to wrestle over the knife and continued until officers arrived.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wert was arrested for a second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
