BEATRICE – Beatrice Police and Gage County law officers have arrested a woman who was on federal probation, following a search of a North 19th Street home.

Law officers conducted a search of the home of 40-year-old Brandy Bennett, arresting her on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and child abuse.

According to police, the search recovered two bags of a crystal substance and a glass pipe with residue testing as methamphetamine.  Authorities say 1.8 grams of suspected meth were found.  Officers also recovered a samurai sword.  

Bennett is a convicted felon who was placed on federal probation, November 11th, 2018…for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

Police also discovered baggies with marijuana residue, along with two pipes and a grinder in a room of a 14-year-old youth.

The search warrant was served at around 10:20 a.m., Thursday.
