BEATRICE, Neb. - A probation search led to the arrest of two individuals on Tuesday night in Beatrice.

According the Beatrice Police, BPD officers were asked to assist in a probation check for Jasmine Powell at a residence on the city's west side - her probation included a search clause for herself and her residence.

During the search, BPD says officers noticed Powell's boyfriend, Jeremy Masoner, acting "fidgety." Probation officers located a pill bottle under a couch cushion, with the label torn off. Officers were able to determine the pills had been refilled on July 10 and were Oxycodone 5mg tabs, which are a Schedule II controlled substance - six pills remained inside. According to police, Masoner stated the pills belonged to a friend and he didn't know why the label had been taken off.

In additional searches, officers found drug paraphernalia, several knives, THC wax, and a BB gun pistol.

Masoner was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person. Powell was arrested for possession of a controlled substance - both were booked into the Gage County Jail.
