WASHINGTON D.C. - NCN and KWBE's own Doug Kennedy is being recognized in the nation's capital. 

Rep. Adrian Smith recognized the 45-year career of the southeast Nebraska news reporter as he's set to retire. Smith complimented Kennedy's accuracy and professionalism in his work ethic. 

 

"I am here today to recognize the career of Doug Kennedy after 45 years as a radio broadcaster," Smith said. "His accuracy and professionalism earned the trust of his listeners and the respect of his colleagues."

Kennedy's career began in 1980 and led to over 100 awards for his journalism, covering major topics like the Beatrice Six, severe weather, and countless car crashes, and fires.
