BENNETT, Neb. - A southeast Nebraska man lost $600 through a text message scam.
A 59-year-old Bennett man received a text message on June 17 from someone impersonating country singer Luke Bryan. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the scammer asked for access to the victim’s savings account, and the victim gave them his information.
The victim thought he was going to get $300, but when he checked his account, he was down to $2.42, LSO said. He lost $600 in total.
