Alice Miller

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Marie Miller, a humble and loving soul, on June 7, 2025. Born in Beatrice, Nebraska on October 11, 1949, Alice lived a life dedicated to her family. Alice graduated from Odell High School in 1967. Her marriage to James Miller on September 1, 1972, in Beatrice was a testament to their enduring love, and they remained devoted to each other until his passing in 2023. As a military wife they lived in Texas, Virginia, and 15 years in the Charleston, SC area before returning to Nebraska after Jim retired. Their home was always filled with one or more fur babies to love a care for.
She was employed in the Packaging/Assembly area at NEAPCO for more than 20 years after moving back to Beatrice, where she worked until her retirement in 2017. Her commitment and dedication to her work were mirrored in her personal life, where she was known for her love for Nebraska football (attended a bowl game with family), Nebraska women's volleyball, basketball, and softball games, and NASCAR. Alice also found joy in sewing, watching television, and collecting lighthouses, turning these simple hobbies into nurturing acts of love for those around her.
Alice was a member of the Beatrice American Legion. Alice was a woman of strength and resilience, but it was her humility and love for her family that truly defined her. Alice leaves behind her sister, Helen (Robert) Schuster of Beatrice, nieces and nephews including Paula Schuster-Davis (Rich Gray) and Kristie Ray, great-nieces and nephews including Hannah Ray, Taylor Davis, and Michaela (Zander) Wells, by her great great nieces and nephews, and by her sisters and brother-in-laws Jeanne (Steve) Cary, Kathy Curry, and Mike (Jan) Miller, and their families. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Miller, and her parents Dorothy (Jurgens) and Paul Gunther.
A family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Evergreen Home Cemetery, 1202 US Highway 136, Beatrice, Nebraska, 68310. Alice's family would like to thank the care staff from Home Instead and the EMT's from the Beatrice Ambulance Service for the outstanding care she received.
We invite all those who knew and loved Alice to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page at www.ghchapel.com. Your shared experiences and kind words will help us all remember Alice as the humble, loving person that she was.
These services have been entrusted to the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
