FAIRBURY - No one was injured in a Tuesday afternoon collision between a truck and a car on Highway 15 north of Fairbury. Both vehicles sustained damage but none of the three total travelers involved required medical attention.

Just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, a truck crashed into a car at the intersection of Highway 15 and 720th Road, about ten miles north of downtown Fairbury. The car, a 2009 Chevy Silverado, was towing a utility trailer loaded with a trencher that was damaged and knocked loose from the collision. According to a Wednesday morning press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, there were no injuries reported to the driver of the truck or the driver and passenger of the car.

The Sheriff's Office release concludes the accident occurred when the driver of the truck - Thad Boman of Hubbell - was traveling eastbound on 720th Road and "failed to yield" at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 15. The truck entered the highway where it collided with the Chevy - driven by Ivonne Rodriguez of Crete with one passenger in the front seat - which was heading north.
