Sidney Board of Education recognizes February Students of the Month

SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District Board of Education recognized the February Students of the Month in the March 17 board meeting
Recognized for the February 2025 Performance Awards are:
7th Grade - Myra Grunig: Myra Grunig is the seventh grade student of the month for February. Her dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities has been exemplary. Myra consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic in the classroom. Her positive influence on her peers makes her a very deserving recipient of this honor. We are proud of the effort Myra has shown each day this school year. Myra is the daughter of Keith and Madison Grunig.
8th Grade - John Jordan: John Jordan has been chosen as Sidney Middle School's 8th-grade Student of the Month for February. John consistently displays the qualities that we find desirable of a student representing Sidney Middle School. John sets a positive example each day in his academics and behavior choices. John attacks new challenges with confidence and perseverance as part of his strong work ethic. It is his kindness and positive personality that makes him stand out as a great classmate and student. In our experience with John, he has been respectful to teachers and other students. His positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and kindness make him an excellent choice for Student of the Month. John is the son of John and Stephanie Jordan.
9th Grade - Lainey Uhlir: Lainey is an excellent student. She communicates well with her teachers and peers. Lainey puts all her dedication and drive into both her academics and extracurriculars. Lainey has a great positive attitude and is a leader among her peers. Lainey is the daughter of Tony and Mary Uhlir.
10th Grade - Aastha Chaudhari: Aastha is an exceptional student who excels in her academics and shows great dedication to the speech team. She is always kind, respectful, and goes out of her way to help her classmates. Her hard work and positive attitude make her a valued member of both her class and the team. Aastha is the daughter of Bharat and Bharti Chaudhari.
11th Grade - Petra Roth: Petra is a dedicated and hardworking student who consistently excels in the classroom. As both a newcomer to this country and a new student, she has shown remarkable determination and adaptability, demonstrating impressive progress and effort in her work. Petra is the daughter of Jackson Roth.
12th Grade - Trinity Ramirez: Trinity is an excellent student, who is a joy to have in class. She works very well with others. Trinity is very involved with FFA. She has become an integral part of Sidney High in a short amount of time. Trinity is the daughter of Alexander and Melissa Ramirez.
The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement.
These criteria are: 1. Superior academic performance, (or), dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A. or attitude toward learning. 2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project. 3. Outstanding Contribution to the class. 4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school. 5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled. 6. Service to school.
