Bridgeport Speech Team Wins 2025 SPVA Conference Championship
The Bridgeport Speech Team captured the 2025 SPVA Conference Championship, earning multiple top finishes in various events to claim the team title.

KIMBALL, Neb. - The Bridgeport Speech Team captured the 2025 SPVA Conference Championship, earning multiple top finishes in various events.
Katie Eckhardt led the Bulldogs with a first-place finish in Informative Speaking and a third-place finish in Program Oral Interpretation (POI). Alexis Liras took home first place in Poetry, while Claire Eckhardt won Entertainment Speaking and placed second in POI.
The duet acting team of Kendal Deaver and Katie Eckhardt secured a first-place finish. Tessa Little placed second in Extemporaneous Speaking, while Lizzy Higgins finished third in Persuasive Speaking.
Additional top finishers included:
- Annabel Sauer – fourth in Informative, fifth in Persuasive
- Maddie Martin – fourth in Extemporaneous
- Coote Mulloy – fifth in Humorous Interpretation, member of fourth-place OID team
- Aaron Cooper – sixth in Humorous Interpretation
- Kendal Deaver – fifth in Serious Interpretation
- Emilie Miller – second in Entertainment Speaking
- Mara Soto – fourth in Poetry, member of fourth-place OID team
- Lizzy Higgins, Alexis Liras, Coote Mulloy, and Mara Soto – fourth-place finish in Oral Interpretation of Drama (OID)
