Lawrence Alvin Keuten, age 72, of Steele City, Nebraska, passed away in Beatrice on February 14, 2025. Born in Fairbury, Nebraska, on November 15, 1952, Lawrence was known for his witty humor and funny anecdotes that brought a smile to everyone's faces. He graduated from Diller High School, Diller, NE and received an associate’s degree from Southeast Community College in Beatrice. A retired Electrical Engineer, Lawrence had an affinity for hunting, fishing, cars and motorcycles, raising his dogs, and was known to enjoy a beer or two. But what mattered most to him was spending quality time with his family.

Lawrence was a beloved father to his three daughters, Darcy (special friend Scott Shinn) Smith, Shanna (special friend Ryan Clark) Keuten, and Karrie (husband Brad Vculek) Keuten. He was also a caring son to his mother, Darlene (Wittler) Keuten, and a loving brother to Randall (Sara) Keuten, Sharon (Rodney) Arthur, and Donna (Dennis) Kenning, and a doting grandfather to Charles & Colten Drake, Spencer and Madison Laflin, and Marcus, Gracie, Emma, Peyten and Lucy Vculek. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard F. Keuten, his brother, Richard A. Keuten, and his cherished dogs, Bridgette and Pistol Pete.

A celebration of Lawrence's life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, 708 North 6th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska, 68310. For those who can't attend the service, it will be live-streamed at www.ghchapel.com. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
