Bonnie Bartels, 76, of Beatrice passed away on Monday evening, February 10, 2025 at the Beatrice Community Hospital. She was born on February 6,1949 at Beatrice to Ervin and Elva (Lenners) Parde.  She graduated from Filley High School in 1967 and later Peru State College.   On May 30,1969 she married Lorin Bartels, Jr. at the American Lutheran Church in Filley. They were blessed with two daughters.  Bonnie worked at BSDC for 40 plus years. She was a life-long member of the American Lutheran Church of Filley. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities, traveling, spending time with family and watching Husker sports.

 

                Survivors include her husband, Lorin Bartels, Jr. of Beatrice; daughters, Jenny (Paul) Busboom of Pickrell and Kelli (Randy) Arens of Grand Island; six grandchildren, Evan (fiancé, Olivia Jamison), Alex and Kiera Busboom, and Andrew, Ella and Anna Arens; sisters, Vicki Busboom of Beatrice and Karen Parde of San Diego; brother-in-law, Jim (Janet) Bartels; sister-in-law, Judy Cihal; nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Elva Parde; brother, Randy Parde; brother-in-law, Dennis Busboom.

 

                Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the American Lutheran Church of Filley with Pastor Gary Grinvalds officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. on Friday at the church.  Inurnment of the cremains will be at the Filley Cemetery.  Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing.  A book for signatures will be available on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from noon until 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family’s choice for future designation.
