Rodney E. Bohlmeyer

Rodney Edwin Bohlmeyer, a man of extraordinary resilience and generosity, departed this life on February 3, 2025. Born on May 31, 1960, in Fairbury, NE, Rodney's infectious zest for life was evident from his early days. His journey from working on an oil rig to an accomplished mechanic at Saathoff Salvage Yard was a testament to his unyielding spirit. No job was too big or too small for him, whether it was working as a dishwasher at Country Cookin', engaging in various construction trade work, or serving Midwest Livestock. Rodney was indeed a true "Jack of all trades."
Rodney was a man who found joy in the simple things, like racing cars and tinkering with engines. His generosity was impactful; Rodney would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a treasured member of the Blue Springs Volunteer Fire Department and the Wymore Church of Christ. Rodney's heart, however, was happiest when he was surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Melonie "Kay" Roberts; children, Natasha Shea-Wiechmann, Jeremy Mick, Justin Mick, Stephanie (Travis) Bohlmeyer-Morgan, Jason (Melinda) Mick, and Madison (Andrew) Garey; grandchildren, Matthew Shea, Patrick Wahlstrom, Addison Wiechmann, Angelina Mick, Merlin Mick, Tyina Morgan, Mercadies Morgan, Alexander Seeman, Tristan Morgan, Axel Seeman, Jase Mick, Garrett Mick, Asher Mick, Conner Garey, Delaney Garey, and June Garey; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Amaya and 2 on the way; siblings, George Bohlmeyer, Danny Bohlmeyer, Randy (Kathy) Vater, Sandy (Randy) Banks, Brenda (Norm) Sutton; brother-in-law, Carl Creek; 17 nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Bohlmeyer; his mother, Geraldine Vater; and his sister, Patty Creek. His life was a living embodiment of the quote, "Family is not an important thing, it’s everything."
