Karen (Tapee) Rehm, born on January 14, 1957, in Beatrice, NE to Robert and Barbara Tapee. She passed away on January 31, 2025. A loving and supportive mother, sister, and grandmother, Karen was known for her creativity and passion for life. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others at the Beatrice State Developmental Center, where she worked for 26 years until her retirement in 2020. She had been a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice while growing up.

 Karen was a  lifetime resident of Beatrice, Nebraska. Her hobbies included music, watching scary movies, cooking, reading, gardening and planting flowers, but painting pictures was her real passion. Karen had been married to Dave "Kazoo" Rehm, and they had two children, Josh and Sara.

She was the beloved mother of Sara Rehm and Josh (Janelle Pickering) Rehm and a doting grandmother to Austin Rathman. Karen was also a cherished sister to Cindy (Dale) Evers, Bobbie Hudson, Becky Tapee, Sara (Randy) Keuten, Tricia Tapee, Steven (Annie) Tapee, and Patrick (Shell) Tapee, and was a caring aunt for many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Barbara (Crosby) Tapee, her siblings Chris, Matt and David Tapee, nephew Jared Tapee, and great-niece Sydney Hudson.

Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 12:00-8:00 PM at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel located at 708 North 6th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska. Family will be greeting friends at the same location later that day from 6:00-7:30 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM also at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel. The service will be streamed live for those unable to attend in person on her memory page at www.ghchapel.com. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
