2025 MUDECAS Basketball Tournament: official brackets and broadcast schedule
BEATRICE - The brackets for the 2025 edition of the MUDECAS high school basketball tournament, featuring more than a dozen schools from across Southeast Nebraska, have been released, and we'll have live coverage of the entire tournament on Ol' Red 99.5 and KWBE all week long. This page will be modified with updated broadcast schedules as the tournament progresses.
The event begins with opening round girls basketball games on Monday, January 13 and opening round boys games on Tuesday, January 14. After a universal off day on Wednesday, both brackets will be contested throughout the afternoon and evening on Thursday. Champions in the girls bracket will be crowned on Friday and in the boys bracket on Saturday. Brackets are divided into two tiers and seeded based on overall records to this point in the calendar.
MUDECAS basketball is reportedly the longest-running high school basketball tournament west of the Mississippi River, and excitement for this event is always high - especially since last year's tournament was cut short due to serious winter weather and no championships were awarded. With the forecasts looking much clearer and excitement as high as ever, the 2025 edition of the event begins in just a few days. News Channel Nebraska will televise the championships in both divisions on both days - four games in total - and Ol' Red and KWBE will provide live radio coverage of the tournament all week long beginning on Monday afternoon.
BRACKETS:
As always, games will be contested at two sites in Beatrice: A Division games at the Beatrice Auditorium, and B Division games at Beatrice Middle School. A full Thursday slate follows the same schedule: four A Division games - beginning with two girls games - will be contested starting at 3:30, with four B Division games starting at 4:15.
