Arlan L. Argo
Arlan Argo went to be with his Lord on December 31, 2024. Arlan was born on May 30, 1934, in Marysville, Kansas to Warda and Marvin Argo. He was the oldest of three boys. He attended Oketo school and graduated from Barneston High School. Arlan joined the army in 1955 and served two years. He married Shirley Eastwood in 1956, and they lived in Manhattan, Kansas until he was honorably discharged from the army.
Arlan loved the Lord, his wife, and his family. He came to know Christ around 1980 and took his personal relationship with Him very seriously. He enjoyed listening to preachers who shared God’s truths. Arlan was a great dad who would do anything to help his family, continually wise and supportive. (Proverbs 20:7) His love for Shirley was always evident, and as her health declined he lovingly cared for her. They were married for 65 years. He valued hard work, honesty, and integrity. He loved his church family. He recently commented that he had everything in life that he ever wanted. Arlan was a no-nonsense man of few words, but one who called things as he saw them.
Farming was Arlan’s interest and passion, he spent his life doing what he loved. He moved his family to a farm near Barneston in 1959 and then to Shirley’s family farm in Pawnee County in 1977 where he lived the rest of his life. He made many friends working with fellow swine breeders, buying and selling stock.
Arlan is survived by two sons and two daughters: son, Doug (Janet) Argo of Liberty and their children: Jared (Allie) Argo, Trigg and Kolt; Charis (Sam) Dunlap, Haley and Kale; Colby (Ellen) Argo, Levi and Callan; son, Dan (Sheri) Argo, Marysville, and their children: Andrea Argo; Jordan (Christina) Argo, Morgan, Logan, Emma, and Ephraim; Joe (Tricia) Argo, Alex, Allaynah, Alijah, Beckam, Orion, and Phoenix; daughter, Jan (George) Davis of Des Moines and their daughter: Emily (Ingram) VanKooten, Everleigh, Eli, and Emery; daughter, Jeanne (Steve) Weisser, Lincoln, and their children, Jorgia Weisser and Alec Weisser; brothers, Duane (Joyce) Argo and Ken (Cindy) Argo; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
