Festival of FUN was created to spread awareness of the daily challenges people with disabilities face, in Australia and around the world. Through its annual live music and entertainment event, Festival of FUN hopes to inspire a global movement of diversity, community, and most importantly, accessibility, helping people with disabilities gain better professional opportunities, pursue more artistic passions, and access entertainment without limitations.
“I’ve been in the disability space as a volunteer for over 25 years and what we’ve found is that there are no events like this, especially for families, so we wanted to make an event where we brought everyone together,” said director and founder David “Macca” McFarland.
Festival of FUN Wollongong 2025 will feature live performances from a lineup of talented Australian artists with and without disabilities. With vibrant music and full accommodations for people of all different ability levels, organizers will ensure all attendees are comfortable and able to enjoy the immersive experience of its singalong concert.
In addition to a live music show, participants can also enjoy a wide variety of accessible entertainment, from face painting to petting zoos.
Festival of FUN has incorporated an expo – with information booths, interactive demonstrations, and more – designed to showcase local services and resources working to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.
