BEATRICE, Neb. - As temperatures continued to drop in the evening hours, slick roads are to blame for a two vehicle crash in Beatrice.

Beatrice Police and Beatrice Fire and Rescue responded to a rear end accident at 77th and Industrial Row in north Beatrice around 3:30 Monday afternoon. BPD officer Zach Smith says both vehicles were heading south on Highway 77 when a mid 1990's Ford Econoline van collided with the rear of a Ford Expedition SUV.

Smith says the driver of the van, a male, approximately in his 60's, was transported to the Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center with non life threatening injuries.

The van is likely totaled due to age, while the Expedition suffered damage around $5,000-$6,000.

Due to weather conditions, no citations were given.
