Recently arrested Kimball residents appear in Court
KIMBALL -- Two Kimball residents who were recently arrested following search warrants conducted by local police agencies appeared in Kimball County Court Dec. 18.
News Channel Nebraska previously reported the arrest of 30-year-old Tyler Collins, who has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In a separate case, 39-year-old Dustin Johnson was arrested for the possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In his court hearing on Dec. 18, Collins waived his right to a preliminary hearing, and his case was bound over to District Court for arraignment on Jan. 7.
His attorney Michael Samuelson requested a bond reduction from $10,000 to $5,000, with the right to post 10%, which Judge Randin Roland granted.
Johnson also waived his right to a preliminary hearing, moving his case to District Court for arraignment on Jan. 7.
His attorney Stacy Bach requested a bond reduction. It was originally set at $50,000 but based on the weight of drugs involved in the case, the law requires the bond to be at $250,000.
Bach requested that it be reduced back to $50,000 because any amount over $100,000, he would not qualify to work at the jail while he is in there. Judge Roland granted the bond reduction.
