CLARKSON, Neb. -- Law enforcement in northeast Nebraska are working together to put out a fire near Clarkson.

According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, a large fire going across Highway 15 northeast of Clarkson is being tended to by departments from Clarkson, Howells, Leigh, Pilger, Eisner, Stanton, Wisner, and four units from the sheriff's office. The Nebraska Department of Transportation is also on scene.

“We’ve got Highway 15 and 32 blocked off," said Unger. "One acreage between Highways 15 and 91 may have some damage to it. The fire runs about three miles long. We are currently trying to get ahead of it with a disc and other fire equipment.”
