Keya Paha County student wins Nebraska snowplow naming contest
SPRINGVIEW, Neb. - A Nebraska snowplow will bear the name chosen by a Keya Paha County grade-schooler. Madison Stout won the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) Name-A-Snowplow contest for District 8 by coming up with the name Slusher Crusher.
The statewide contest invited students from kindergarten through 6th grade to submit creative names for the snowplows, with NDOT choosing two winners from each of its eight districts.
To celebrate her victory, NDOT presented Stout with a plaque, a die-cast snowplow with her winning name, and the opportunity to sit in the snowplow and honk its air horn.
News Channel Nebraska previously reported on a Rushville first-grader who won the contest in District 5. You can find the full list of winners on the NDOT website.
