Truck collides with tractor in Chase County

IMPERIAL, Neb. -- Two people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a pickup truck slammed into the back of a tractor Monday.
The Chase County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 3:00 p.m. on Highway 61 about eight miles north of Imperial.
Investigators say the truck, driven by Michael Kuskie, drove into the back of the tractor at highway speed with no signs of breaking.
The road linking Highway 6 and Highway 23 was closed for about two hours as officials cleared the scene.
Kuskie and his passenger, Victoria Willard, both of Ogallala, were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The tractor driver, Nicholas Day of Madrid, was not hurt. Officers add no one was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Kuskie was cited for driving under suspension and additional charges may be filed if the investigation determines they're needed.
